Fullstock curly maple longrifle by "EICHOLTZ & BRO LANCASTER PA", as marked on barrel. Eicholtz operated from 1840-1888. 38-1/4" octagon barrel of about .48 caliber bore. Iron parts have evenly pitted surfaces and brass parts have been lightly cleaned. Nicely grained curly maple stock was refinished with a darker stain that doesn't highlight its grain character. Condition is good as refinished, with a little burnout behind the nipple, small chip to left of barrel tang, and a narrow, 4" long piece nicely replaced where the ramrod enters the stock. Lock functions only with full cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
