C1840-60 percussion halfstock rifle. 1" octagon barrel of about .38 caliber bore. Metal parts have an honest look, showing some worn scattered pitting with an uneven patina. Walnut halfstock has been neatly repaired and lightly refinished, has some wood filler around the barrel pin, a repaired chip above the lock, a little wood filler to right of barrel tang, and a small crack by the lock bolt. Nice ovoid patchbox with simple line engraving. Modern replacement nipple. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
