C1840 incise-carved fullstock Kentucky rifle for restoration. 38-1/2" long, 1" octagon barrel of about .36 caliber bore. Nicely engraved 4-piece patchbox. Left side of buttstock is incise carved with a butterfly-like design. Iron lock and barrel show rust and pitting, the barrel being partly cleaned with an unreadable script signature on top flat. Brass parts with uncleaned patina overall, patchbox cover is missing its latch. Stock has been cleaned, missing the forward portion of the forearm, has a glued wrist crack, and a crack in the toe of the butt. Set triggers function, hammer doesn't cock due to broken sear spring. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
