Hopkins & Allen 44 smoothbore falling block. Marked on top of barrel "X.L.SHOT-GUN 44 CAL.C.F.PAT'D JUNE 23.1885". Built like a Hopkins & Allen rifle. 24" round barrel with excellent original blue finish. Other metal parts with vibrant case colors mixing with light to medium patina. Stocks are very good with a small crack by the buttplate and some moderate marks from rough handling, has not been sanded or cleaned. Functional takedown feature. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
