Wonderful swiveling breech Kentucky pistol. This is the only swiveling breech Kentucky pistol we have ever seen. 4-5/8" barrels made in one piece, with bores of .36 caliber. Curly maple grip with curly maple side panels on barrels. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some pitting in the nipple areas and some light cleaning having been done to the barrels, probably looking for markings, which were not present. Unique gunsmith made lock. Interesting early nipples. Beautifully made stocks show average wear and use with a few minor age checks and handling marks. Gun is gracefully made showing unique handwork with 10 total silver inlays and escutcheons, some of which are endearingly imperfectly shaped. Uniquely shaped hammer. Brass triggerguard with rich patina. Pewter forearm tips are worn through a little on the extreme tips from many years of careful carry. This is a truly special gun lovingly handmade and owned through the years certain to be a key display piece for a serious collector. Functions mechanically, but spring tension is a little weak. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
