US M1826 contract Naval flintlock pistol by Evans, dated 1830. 8-1/2" round barrel of .54 caliber bore with bold proof marks at the breech. This pistol is a very nice reconversion to flintlock with nicely aged parts that match the rest of the metal well. Metal parts are smooth brown patina with minimal pitting. Belt hook opposite lock. Stock has good proof marks in the stock opposite the lock. Wood is in good condition with an attractive smooth patina and wear with numerous minor dings overall and a lengthwise crack between the triggerguard and ramrod channel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
