Eli Whitney Style III 1812 contract musket. Flayderman 5J-018. Lock marking "N.HAVEN" in banner, cartouche oval outline visible directly behind the rear lock screw and Roman numeral mark XIII below it. Gun overall does not show much use, with uncleaned patina overall and some pitting on the buttplate. Virtually free of pitting in the nipple area, where one would expect it, were the gun used very much. Stock has an almost-black patina, with numerous minor handling marks from years of storage, has some little chips by the buttplate, sliver missing from forearm edge on left side between middle and upper bands, and some minor nicks to the ramrod channel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
