Springfield M1863 Type I musket. Barrel shortened to 33" and rifling bored out to almost .60", stock shortened to just in front of lower band. No lock, nipple, sling swivel, or buttplate. Lock screw escutcheons still present. Metal parts have a rust patina overall with some scattered pitting. Stock shows evidence of having been cleaned with some dry age wear and checking to the rear of the butt and a small crack by the rear lock screw hole. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
