John Gunderson Antique Militaria
Prussian M1839 percussion musket marked "Saarn" - $1250.00

Please click the image for a larger version
Prussian M1839 civil war import musket. Marked "Saarn" on lock. Metal parts have a smooth light to medium patina overall with some pitting in the barrel breech area. Replacement American-style ramrod. Stock is nicely marked with numerous proof marks, deeply sunken, and shows only smooth light wear with minor handling marks, a small repaired chip by the buttplate, a small chip and crack bye the barrel tang, and a crack by the rear lock screw. This musket is in unusually good condition, with these Prussian muskets usually exhibiting heavy use, having first been used by Prussia in flintlock configuration, then also after they were converted, and finally as imports in the early days of the American Civil War before they were replaced with .58 caliber arms. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
