Mediterranean percussion fullstock musket. 34-1/4" barrel with ring ornamentation near breech and bell-shaped muzzle. Ramrod, ornamental inlay opposite lock mortise, trigger, and lock are absent, and gun looks like it has been used without a buttplate for a long time, if it ever had one. Lock mortise is about 6-1/4" long, 1" from the center of the rear lock bolt to the bottom of the mortise, and lock bolts 3-1/2" apart on center. Barrel is disconnected from the tang, and stock bas bowed a little over time. Stock is extensively inlaid with bone and horn, only a couple of which are absent. Forearm edges show some minor wood loss, but other than having been sanded, stock is in sound condition. Mortise looks like it might fit an early British percussion military lock, or one patterned after it. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
