Springfield M1847 musketoon. Dated 1851 on lock, with readable cartouche visible opposite lock. Metal parts have a dark uncleaned patina overall with light scattered pitting. Stock is very good, showing average wear and use overall, with a smooth old added finish, has a tiny crack by the lock screw and behind the lock, a tiny chip by the buttplate and some minor nicking to the ramrod channel. Sling swivels were removed neatly during the period of use. Nipple is replaced. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
