J.H.Hall M1843 breechloading percussion carbine. 21" barrel. Metal parts have rust patina with overall pitting, markings on breechblock is partial but not readable. Stock is refinished with a replaced piece of wood behind the frame where wood often flaked off from. Has stamped marking "52" in left side of butt and a diamond-shaped inlay of maple in the right side of the butt. There may have been some wood filler applied near the buttplate. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
