Single barrel percussion halfstock fowler marked on lock "J.KAY". 35-1/4" round barrel with gold band at breech, bore of about 12 gauge. High grade gun with nicely shaped lock and furniture including silver forearm cap and barrel key escutcheons (one absent). Metal parts have a brown patina overall with some rust in the breech area and barrel partly cleaned to show a striped twist pattern. Stock shows average wear and use overall with several long lateral cracks in the butt and a break in the lock area that was well reinforced by a metal plate opposite the lock. Ramrod is an antique replacement. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
