C1860 percussion halfstock percussion fowler, marked on lock and barrel "J.HENRY & SON". 35-1/2" part octagon barrel, part round barrel with "wedding band" separator, about 0.61" bore. James and Granville Henry were the third and fourth generation gunmakers of the Henry family of Boulton, Pennsylvania. They were known for selling their simply made product to western traders and people migrating west. Typical Henry build with iron buttplate and triggerguard, german silver forearm tip and barrel key escutcheons. Plain oil-finished walnut stock, shows scattered minor handling marks overall and some minor grain cracks by lock screw and each key escutcheon. Nice antique, possibly original ramrod with brass tips on both ends. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
