Fine art Austrian single barrel halfstock fowler. 37" part octagon, part round barrel of about 0.58" diameter and swamped (flared) muzzle. Barrel is fully embellished with a gold damascene finish showing intricate floral decoration in the negative, plus birds at various places and a goddess-like figure near the breech. Stock is finely carved, buttstock is deeply fluted with buttplate to match, furnishings are solid silver embellished with gold, ramrod ferule with grotesque mask, triggerguard sculpted, shaped and engraved, buttplate shaped and sculpted with embellishments and heraldic figures, sideplate with woodland scene and other figures, and heraldic escutcheon plate. Lock is marked "in Wein" (Vienna, Austria). Metal parts have fine finish, one crack by triggerguard screw is noted. Stock has a smooth appearance overall, has a couple grain cracks in the forearm near forearm cap, a long grain crack in the right side of the butt, a couple grain cracks diagonal by the sideplate, small crack above front of lock, and a couple shallow chips near the buttplate heel plate. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
