C1820-40 New England percussion fowling piece. Faint lock marking "LANE & READ/BOSTON" with Boston being stronger. 36-1/2" round barrel of 0.68" bore. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina overall with some expected pitting in the breech area and lockplate. Walnut fullstock has an old applied finish, faint hairline to wrist, crack in forearm from front of lock, and a chip on each side of the front ramrod pipe. Ramrod fills the channel for display but is too short to be functional. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
