C1840-60 walnut halfstock percussion rifle. 34-3/16" octagon barrel of about .40 caliber bore and 1" width. Only marking is on the Goulcher back action trade lock. Barrel has a dark patina with some pitting in the breech area, lock was lightly cleaned, furnishings are a light coloration. Stock is built with an unusually slim butt, surfaces are smooth from having been lightly cleaned, has a lateral crack in the right side of the forearm, and an old break in the lock area that was repaired well and reinforced with a small piece of wood on either side of the triggerguard. Hammer cocks fully but does not have half cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
