C1860 curly maple halfstock percussion muzzleloading rifle. 37" octagon barrel of about .42 caliber bore and 1" width. No markings apparent. Nice antique open sights. Barrel has dark patina, other metal parts may have been cleaned at some point. Stock has nicely striped grain, resting deer inlay in cheekpiece, has a break in the wrist well repaired long ago with two iron straps. Wood has a crack at the forearm tip on left side and in front of the lock, has thin pieces of replaced wood around the lock mortise and opposite the lock. Mechanically functional with set triggers, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
