C1860 walnut halfstock percussion smooth rifle with Remington trade lock. 43-1/2" shotgun-like round barrel of about .60 caliber bore, equipped with blade front and open rear sights. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina overall with a little pitting in the barrel breech area. Walnut halfstock has a "perch belly" profile to the butt and a crescent-style rifle buttplate. Stock has an attractive patina with scattered minor handling marks and a small crack by the lock screw. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
