scarce "HASLETT BALTIMORE" marked flintlock boxlock pistol with folding trigger. 1-3/4" round barrel of about .47 caliber bore, about 6" overall. James Haslett lived from 1773-1833, operating in Baltimore, MD, selling civilian and military guns from 1803-1827 after a short period in Philadelphia. Metal parts have simple but attractive engraving, showing brown patina overall and scattered worn pitting. Finely checkered walnut grip has a well-hidden repaired crack and an nice silver shield escutcheon. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
