Colt M1860 Army revolver. Serial number 23973 on barrel, frame, and triggerguard, 3973 on cylinder, 6301 on wedge, and 42621 on gripstrap. Earlier military contract gun with "4 screw" frame including support screws for shoulder stock use. Standard configuration with 8" round barrel with clear marking on top. Good smooth brown patina on iron parts with minimal granular pitting. Brass triggerguard is cleaned and shows dings. Wood grip is evenly worn with visible cartouche on left side, bottom edge shows wear with some minor corner nicks also worn. Has some light initials on the bottom of the grip. Functions mechanically, but trigger will release hammer from half cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
