Lucius W. Pond "patent infringement" 32 rimfire belt revolver. Marked on top of barrel "L.W.POND WORCESTER MASS.PATD JULY 10 1860" and additionally marked MANUF'D FOR SMITH & WESSON PAT'D APRIL 3 1855", the result of the loss of a patent infringement action under the Rollin White patent controlled on bored-through cylinders by Smith & Wesson. 4" octagon barrel. Metal parts are a clean light gray with fine markings. Rare to find with the original extractor rod that screws into the butt. Wood grips are fine, free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
