Nice New Hampshire marked percussion conversion M1816 Asa Waters contract musket. Excellent markings on lock, barrel, and two cartouches in stock, one opposite lock and one in front of buttplate. Metal parts are virtually free of pitting with a smooth, somewhat mottled patina. Stock is very good, has one small hairline crack in front of the rear lock bolt, free of chips, with some scattered handling marks, particularly some scratches in the right side of the wrist. Letter "E" carved opposite lock. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
