Early French or American-built with French parts flintlock musket - $2250.00

Early French or American-built with French parts flintlock musket. 42-1/4" barrel appears to have been trimmed due to lack of a bayonet stud, probably due to muzzle wear. No exterior markings apparent, barrel has an unknown cartouche on the underside, and lock has some initials on the inside. Flash hole is rebushed with a copper plug. Sling swivel is absent from the middle band. Interesting shape to buttplate tang. Metal parts are cleaned to a light gray with some expected pitting present primarily in the barrel breech. Stock has been sanded with a light finish added, has some grain cracks at the rear of the butt, a small crack front and rear of the lock, a small crack above the sideplate, and a couple dings and chips in the ramrod channel. Frizzen on lock was refaced long ago. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
