Massachusetts M1816 Sea Service musket with bayonet by Asa Waters. Dated 1832 on lock and 1833 on barrel tang. Distinctive large buttplate. Metal parts are clean and well marked with some pitting on the lower barrel band. Stock is good, cartouched opposite lock and in front of barrel tang. Has a crack present to right of triggerguard and some minor chipping to the ramrod channel edges. Otherwise wood is nice and shows minor marks and light use. Has a small crack to left of buttplate tang and a diagonal crack by the upper band on the right side. Original bayonet fits nicely. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
