Harpers Ferry M1855 Maynard primed rifled musket. Dated 1858 on lock, eagle on door and barrel proofs are worn from use, two cartouche outlines in stock are visible. Nice complete gun with both sling swivels. Metal parts have even brown granular surfaces overall with some pitting in the barrel breech. Stock shows moderate wear and use, may have been lightly cleaned at some point, shows expected handling marks, a couple minor dings, and a small chip at rear of barrel tang. Overall honest condition for a gun that probably saw the entire Civil War, possibly on the Southern side. Mechanically good including automatic Maynard primer, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
