C1750-1800 flintlock Indian trade gun. Shorter length smoothbore gun preferred mounted Indians. 32-3/8" round barrel of about 0.59" bore. Sheet iron barrel band and triggerguard, sheet brass buttplate nailed on with early hand forged nails. Reconverted to flintlock. Metal parts are mostly a dark patina with lock parts having been cleaned. Curly maple stock is good, showing average wear and use overall with some diagonal grain cracks in the forearm and some minor worn slivers to the forearm edge. Lock has spring tension but does not cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
