Burnside 5th model breechloading percussion saddle ring carbine. Serial number 9239. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some minor scattered rust. Stock is good, may have been lightly cleaned with a light added finish. Inspector cartouche is faintly visible opposite the lock. Forearm may have a small sliver from the edge in front of the band on the left side, otherwise just shows scattered marks from handling.
