Burnside 5th model breechloading percussion saddle ring carbine. Serial number 15963. Metal parts have a light to medium gray patina overall with scattered pitting. Lever hinge pin has part of its head broken off. Sling swivel is absent from butt while plate is present. Ring bar and ring are replacements. Buttstock has a visible cartouche opposite the lock. Wood show average wear and use with an added light finish, has a small chip by the buttplate tang and some expected handling marks. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
