Unmarked under hammer percussion rifle. Bore of about .55 caliber, octagon barrel of 40-3/4" long. Has collection number F3.5S on trigger plate and wrist of stock. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina overall. Has 3 metal ramrod pipes under barrel, one crudely resoldered, and several old filled mortises, possibly from the barrel being salvaged from another rifle that had key holes in mortises for a stock. Stock has a dark finish, with a crack in the wrist that is stable. Rudimentary but effective action with only three parts; the hammer, trigger, and trigger guard, which serves as the mainspring. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
