Springfield M1866 "Second Allin" .50-70 "trapdoor" rifle. Dated 1866 on breechblock and 1864 on lock. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some scattered pitting. Stock has some dry age cracking to the butt and a replaced piece of wood on the left half of the stock that extends from the rear lock screw forward to the lower barrel band. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
