C1820-40 curly maple full stock long rifle. 39" long 7/8" weight octagon barrel of .40 caliber with original punch-dot decoration on muzzle. Brass blade front sight, rear sight missing from mortise. Trade lock marked "LONDON WARRANTED", converted to percussion. Lock and barrel have a chocolate patina with some expected pitting in the barrel breech. Other furnishing parts have a medium patina. Nicely shaped stock cheekpiece with engraved eagle oval inlay. Also has an oval silver initial escutcheon in top of wrist. Stock may have been lightly refinished, has attractive curly grain with a smooth appearance overall, has a few scattered scratches, a couple small chips around the lock mortise, small crack by lock screw, small crack by stock pin on left side, and a diagonal crack by stock pin on left side. Hammer cocks and holds at full cock, but does not have half cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
