Bacon underhammer single shot percussion pistol. Marked on barrel flats "BACON &CO./NORWICH C-T", "CAST STEEL" and serial numbered 74. 4" part octagon part round barrel, about 8-1/4" overall. Metal surfaces have standard engraving, showing light gray cleaned surfaces overall with scattered granular pitting. The nipple is absent and the hammer, when cocked, shows evidence of repair/brazing on the inside. Wood grips are fair, showing some dings from rough handling, free of cracks, with a couple minor chips. Grip screw and escutcheon are replaced with a machine screw and nut. Mechanically good but does not have half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
