1836 dated Massacusetts militia musket. British trade lock with crown over GR and TOWER markings. 40-1/4" round barrel reconverted to flintlock. .69 caliber. Metal parts overall have a dark patina with light pitting and overall old black paint. Walnut halfstock is good, having a couple diagonal grain cracks in the forearm, similar crack opposite the lock, small piece of wood missing above front of lock, and a small chip behind the barrel tang. Needs hammer, frizzen spring, and internal lock parts. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
