Nice untouched flintlock New England militia musket. Marked on lock "J&C/GASCOIGNE/WARRANTED" and British proofed on breech of 40-1/4" round barrel. Bore of about 0.72". Uncleaned brown patina on metal parts with some expected pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock shows light wear and use with attractive checkering in wrist and original surfaces overall. There is a small crack/chip by the lock screw, minor chip by triggerguard, and light grain crack above ramrod ferule on right side of forearm. Surfaces show age disturbance to original finish, but no work or cleaning apparent. Hard to find in untouched condition like this. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
