M1808 US Barstow, Exeter flintlock musket. 42" barrel. Nicely marked lock. Metal parts have a dark patina overall with scattered light pitting, except the triggerguard which was cleaned. Sideplate is a second model Brown Bess style. Stock shows moderate wear and use with numerous small handling marks, two diagonal cracks in the forearm behind the lower band, some missing slivers at rear of lock, old secured cracks around barrel tang, a couple small cracks by the sideplate, and an old worn small scoop on left side of butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
