Austrian M1842 70 caliber percussion rifled musket. Has Austrian eagle at rear of lock and number "243" on several of the metal parts. Equipped with long range rear sight. Metal parts have an attractive uncleaned patina overall. Upper barrel band is a replacement, ramrod is absent, and nipple is chipped off. Forestock has a crack by the upper band spring, several hairline cracks in the lock/forearm area, and some hairline cracks by the buttplate, and also some chips in the lock mortise and a piece of wood missing between the hammer and the barrel tang. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
