C1760 flintlock reconversion longfowler. 46-3/4" barrel, British proofed, with good early "teardrop" shaped front sight. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina overall with some light pitting on the barrel. Stock has been restored, with a repaired crack or break in the lock/triggerguard area, the lock mortise having been rebuilt and nicely colored for display, and each of the barrel pins having been reinforced with a football-shaped piece of wood. The forearm has a diagonal mend in front of the ramrod ferule that would suggest it had been restored from that point forward were it not for these football-shaped restoration pieces indicating that the wood is old. The stock has an overall lightly sanded appearance. Nicely shaped wrist escutcheon. Mechanically good including tape primer, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
