English made side lever double barrel cartridge shotgun marked on barrel rib "F.J.ABBEY & Co CHICAGO" and on locks "F.J.ABBEY & Co". Serial number 1612. Frederick J. Abbey & Co. operated in Chicago, Illinois from 1858-1878, selling a variety of firearms. 10 gauge, 30" barrels. Very nicely engraved overall with attractive light patina to metal surfaces. Stocks are nicely grained and checkered, showing minor handling overall, with a crack above the left lock. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
