Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. Serial number 171673, made in 1899. 26" octagon barrel, 25-35 WCF caliber. Fair bore is clean with defined rifling showing some erosion. Lettering is all easily readable, showing light wear and use. Dark gray patina overall with some plumb patina. Late 19th century production with widows peak knurled pattern hammer, steel crescent butt plate and forearm nose cap. Buttstock and forearm show older refinish with shallow dents and scratches, edges of wood even with metal to just slightly proud with a good appearance. Has an old smoothed down chip near the heel of the butt and a couple of minuscule chips along upper tang. Comes with Cody museum search response. Ships to FFL dealer or C&R license holder where eligible. Appears to be mechanically functional. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot. Before considering using this arm, we recommend inspection by a professional gunsmith.
