antique restored special order Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle. Serial number 58234, made in 1891. 40-65 W.C.F caliber. Half octagon, half round 26" barrel. Good clean bore showing slight granularness from black powder use. Nicely grained pistol grip stock with ebony insert in pistol grip. Rifle is restored to a like-new condition with vividly blued barrel and other metal parts boldly color casehardened. Wood is smooth with a high gloss finish, being a little shy to metal parts in places, particularly the receiver tangs. Comes with a Cody Museum factory letter confirming features. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
