Springfield M1888 .45-70 "trapdoor" rifle with ramrod bayonet. Serial number 526658. Metal parts have a brown patina overall. Stock has a good inspector cartouche dated 1891 and "P" firing proof behind triggerguard. Wood shows average wear and use, uncleaned, free of cracks and chips, showing numerous light to moderate handling marks, including some marks between the triggerguard and barrel band from having been rested while being fired. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
