C1820-40 percussion rifle, showing nice early curled trigger, and New England features of a plain maple stock, wide butt and triggerguard, and silver escutcheon in wrist. Trade lock with American eagle marking. 28-1/2" octagon barrel of about .45 caliber bore. Metal parts have a light patina overall with a little pitting in the bolster area. Stock has an attractive coloration, appears to have been lightly cleaned at some point, showing a minor crack front and rear of lock, and some minor worn slivering to forearm edges. Mechanically good except does not have half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
