State of Connecticut contract Peabody rifle. Serial number 143. Standard configuration with 33" barrel. Marking on left side of frame. Metal parts are smooth with a medium patina overall. Stock is good, showing average wear and use overall, cartouche opposite lock, has expected handling marks plus a couple moderate ones. Has some minor slivering to the cleaning rod channel. Nice original cleaning rod. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
