Scarce New Jersey conversion M1836 R.Johnson pistol, dated 1837. "NJ" marked on barrel and cartouched opposite lock with bold original cartouches. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina, showing scattered light rust. Stock is good with fine cartouches, cracked through and repaired in front of the triggerguard. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
