Earliest date 2nd Model Virginia Manufactory musket, dated 1812. Adams of Richmond, VA style Confederate conversion to percussion. 42" barrel. Metal parts are untouched with patina and scattered pitting overall. Assembly number "44" is noted on many of the metal parts. Stock shows moderate wear and use overall with numerous handling marks, has some minor slivers to the forearm edges with associated minor grain cracks, and a minor crack by rear lock bolt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
