Springfield M1842 percussion musket, dated 1855 on lock and barrel. Original length stock, barrel shortened about 1" to bayonet stud. Metal parts are a mix of patina and dried oil surfaces with excellent markings and little use. Stock has a visible cartouche opposite the lock, has an old varnished finish, and a wrist break repaired 50-100 years ago with screws. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
