US Springfield M1842 musket dated 1849 on lock and 1847 on barrel. Excellent lock marks and barrel proofs, cartouche visible opposite lock. Metal parts have a light to medium speckled patina, has a slight granularness to the lock, but otherwise free of pitting. Stock shows scattered moderate handling marks. Ramrod is absent. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
