Unusual M1795 musket dated 1813 on lock and 1814 on buttplate. Built with an unmarked barrel with an octagon breech section, all parts have similar age and fit well. Springfield Armory was known to have built some guns early in the War of 1812 using parts on hand to meet the immediate wartime demand. 41-1/2" barrel. Metal parts have a medium brown patina overall with some pitting to the lockplate and barrel breech. Stock has been lightly cleaned, having a small crack by the rear lock bolt, small crack in right forearm edge, and an old worn sliver from the ramrod channel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
