C1770 American built flintlock musket, utilizing British Short Land parts. 42" round barrel with British proofs. Metal parts have medium to dark patina overall with some pitting in the barrel breech area. Triggerguard has an interesting period riveted repair. Stocked in American curly maple, wood shows evidence of having been lightly cleaned, with a crack by each lock screw and one in front of the lock. Has a flat grain crack in left side of forearm. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
